The ‘grid-style’ design of traditional Georgian style windows can be achieved in two ways during modern window replacements: Georgian bars or Astragal bars.
With Georgian bars, the ‘bars’ are sealed inside the panes of glass, whereas with Astragal bars are added onto the glazing both internally and externally. Both methods help to mimic the appearance of multiple panes of glass.
Whilst this is completely up to you, if your existing windows are efficient with heat or are requiring a significant amount of upkeep, replacement sash windows are a worthy consideration. Furthermore, uPVC sliding sash windows can last many years and help in reducing your energy costs due to their excellent thermal qualities making them a fantastic investment for your home.
