The use of uPVC windows has long been strictly prohibited in Conservation Areas in the UK. The appearance of the R9 window and door system, with flush fitting casements, traditional joints and dummy external hinges, means that it is almost indistinguishable from a genuine timber window. After working with Liverpool City Council for almost two years, Manchester Window Factory became the company to obtain planning permission for the R9 system in the Wavertree Garden Suburb of Liverpool. We have since carried out several installations in that area. Working in partnership with Cranleigh Design Consultants Ltd, we have the knowledge and expertise to liaise with your council to gain approval where this is required.
Along with the traditional joints and flush fitting sashes of the R9 system which gives it its authentic appeal, other optional extras include dummy butt hinges, traditional stays and monkeytail handles.
The R9 system is available in 13 colours and in a variety of different colour combinations to give the authentic look of a traditional timber window
